Application of Ultrafiltration Membrane in Power Plant Wastewater Treatment

Application of Ultrafiltration Membrane in Power Plant Wastewater Treatment

The raw water from power plants is quite complex, and directly reusing it to the production equipment of the power plant will cause certain damage. It must go through a water treatment system before use. In the water treatment system of power plants, the application of ultrafiltration membranes can efficiently remove impurities such as microorganisms and colloids from the raw water, significantly improving the water quality of the produced water.

The traditional water treatment process uses the method of aerated raw water, but it increases the number of aerated fans, which cannot be powered off during operation, invisibly increasing operating costs. At the same time, there is a certain level of risk investment and equipment maintenance difficulty. The Sujing ultrafiltration membrane system can effectively treat iron ions and other contents in raw water, and the control, operation, and maintenance of the ultrafiltration membrane device are relatively convenient, greatly reducing unnecessary investment.

Ultrafiltration membranes, with their unique performance, can efficiently separate and remove various impurities and pollutants from power plant wastewater. It has a precise filtration pore size, which can intercept small particles, colloidal substances, etc., thereby significantly improving the purification effect of wastewater.

In the process of wastewater treatment in power plants, ultrafiltration membranes have shown numerous advantages. It has relatively simple operation, stable and reliable operation, and can work continuously for a long time. Meanwhile, ultrafiltration membranes also have good adaptability and can be flexibly adjusted and optimized according to the characteristics of wastewater from different power plants

Ultrafiltration membrane is an effective process for removing microorganisms with a typical pore size range of 0.0001-0.1 μ m. It can remove suspended solids in turbid water with a high removal rate, and the turbidity of the produced water can usually reach below 0.2 NTU. It can effectively remove colloids such as iron, manganese, and aluminum, with a removal effect of over 90-95%. Usually, microorganisms are above 0.5 microns, while ultrafiltration membranes are 0.03 microns, which can effectively remove 99% of microorganisms such as Escherichia coli.

In addition, due to the pollution of various substances in the water during operation, the membrane pressure difference of ultrafiltration will increase. When it reaches the set value, it is necessary to backwash the ultrafiltration membrane to reduce the membrane pressure difference. The addition of ultrafiltration backwashing unit and chemical cleaning unit in the system can effectively prolong the service life of the membrane, while also avoiding secondary pollution in the subsequent system.
